We are very excited to announce the return of Paula Boddicker, LME, CLS to the Refresh Laser Skin Spa team! Many of you will remember Paula as one of our very best and highly qualified Medical Aestheticians here at Refresh. In her absence Paula has obtained her certification as a Laser Aesthetic Specialist as well. We are extremely happy to have Paula back and sincerely hope you will enjoy working with Paula on your skincare and laser goals in the coming months. Dermaplaning is a form of exfoliation similar to microdermabrasion without the use of suction or damaging abrasive crystals. A sterile blade is stroked along the skin at an angle to gently “shave off” dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Dermaplaning also removes all of the fine ‘peach fuzz’ hair on the face leaving a very smooth surface.
As with any type of exfoliation, the removal of dead skin cells allows a much improved penetration of your at home skincare products, reduces the appearance of fine lines, evens the skin tone, and assists in removing milia, white heads and blackheads, and minor breakouts associated with congested pores.
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive procedure with no downtime or negative side effects! This procedure is just as effective as a microderm facial like the SilkPeel and is perfect for clients with skin that is sensitive or reactive to traditional microdermabrasion, or who cannot have microdermabrasion due to broken capillaries, sensitive skin, or skin allergies.
